William H. Du Bois is Oakland's foremost criminal trial lawyer. Practicing criminal law since 1970, Mr. Du Bois spent six years as a prosecuting attorney, and now over 33 years as a criminal defense lawyer. All of these years have been in Oakland and the San Francisco Bay Area. Mr. Du Bois has tried well over 100 serious felonies including the last death penalty trial had in Alameda County.  He was Cal Bar Certified as a Criminal Law Specialist in 1976, recognized by the National Trial Lawyers Association as one of the top 100 trial lawyers in America for the years 2014 & 2015, and teaches occasionally at the local and Bar and regional Universities.
