Muslim temple raided by law enforcement

As a result of a continuing investigation, a Muslim temple in California was raided on Oct. 21. Local, state and federal authorities contributed to the early-morning raid that occurred on 27th Street's 800 block in Oakland. The State Department of Consumer Affairs and the Alameda County District Attorney's Office claim that the location has been under investigation for at least six months.

The U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement indicates that seven individuals originally from Mexico have been detained in connection with a major Riverside drug seizure. The Sept. 26 bust allegedly involved crystal methamphetamine, marijuana and other chemicals. The alleged drug lab was located in a home, and another home in the same area was identified as housing a marijuana growing operation.

At a California Chuck E. Cheese, two men, aged 27 and 28, were detained on allegations of consuming heroin on July 8. A customer at the family-oriented pizzeria allegedly contacted police to report that the pair had been using drugs in the restroom. Police claim that they found the men in the same stall in the bathroom; a lieutenant with the Costa Mesa Police reported that the two men had been seen "in the process of smoking heroin."
